This year we have donated a prize that has travelled all the way to Birdfair Global from the Falkland Islands. Both are brewed and distilled by local artisans in the islands.

Jeff Halliday’s microbrewery Falklands Beerworks is suitably located in central Stanley between the various pubs each style of beer is fondly named after local places or inhabitants; whereas Richard McKee’s  Distillery is right on the edge of Stanley Harbour providing the ultimate view from the office!  His Darwin’s Botanicals Gin is distilled in small batches, infused with locally foraged botanicals including diddle-dee berries, tea berries and scurvy grass.

This lot is worth £51.00 on the nose.  However, these items can only be purchased if you visit the Falkland Islands, so their rarity is priceless.

Having donated generously this set is bound to be the best ale and gin that has ever touched your lips. Cheers!
