Malvina House
The Malvina House Hotel, Stanley’s premier hotel, is our first recommendation for all our clients whilst staying in Stanley.
The Malvina House Hotel is named after Malvina Felton who lived in the original Malvina House in the 1890’s. Though the original house was demolished in the late 1960’s part of the structure remains and was incorporated into the hotel, which opened in 1983 and since opening has been enlarged and extensively upgraded.
Located opposite the Historic Dockyard Museum, on the seafront on Ross Road, it is within short easy walking distance of all points of interest, leisure centre, shops, cafes, bars and pubs.
Bar & Restaurant
The hotel offers facilities expected of a modern hotel, including an excellent restaurant where our chefs utilize local produce and offer inspirational menus to make your mouth water. The spacious and comfortable lounge and bar area, with uninterrupted views of Stanley Harbour, serves Falkland beer on tap, as well as a good selection of wines and spirits.
In June 2019 the hotel added a 55 seat cinema HarbourLights this also doubles up as a lecture theatre. In addition to the auditorium there is a separate meeting/dining/function room which can be set up boardroom-style accommodating 20 and larger numbers depending on the room layout.
All public areas within the hotel are non-smoking and vapour free.
Bedrooms
The Paddock bedroom wing was opened in 2017, only a few steps away from the main hotel. Offering travellers a value option to stay with comfortable beds, hot steamy showers and a simple contemporary bedroom design. Six of the rooms are interconnecting and there is one accessible room. In the main hotel there is a selection of standard rooms, executives and a suite, that offer additional extras to the value rooms such as additional satellite channels, room service, complementary toiletries and direct dial telephones.
